Interactive Presentations to School-Leavers
One in three 15 year olds say they 'hardly ever' leave their room.
Researchers fear we are creating a 'bedroom generation'.
The Times, September 2026 based on research from the Centre for Social Justice
We go into schools and sixth form colleges to drive home to school-leavers the importance of maintaining in-person connection.
It has never been more important that we teach young people, particularly school-leavers, the importance and power of in-person communication.
Leaving school, young people will likely have the option to work, study and interact online, behind their screens, rather than coming together. The interactive presentations show how and why to thrive in today's AI-dominated world it is imperative they maintain a degree of in-person presence, not just to hone their uniquely human skills so important in boosting their career chances, but for their own health and happiness.

Presentation format
Presentations are an hour long and show pupils how important their uniquely human skills are in today's world. They are shown how these vital skills can not be developed behind screens.
This is further demonstrated through a number of communication tasks which pupils are given to do with one another within the session.
The presentation is upbeat throughout, reminding students of the power, importance and joy of in-person communication, however fleeting.

Testimonials
Imogen provided an excellent talk for our sixth formers on how to prepare themselves for the future workforce. Drawing on her wealth of experience, she gave valuable advice on how to adapt and thrive in a world where online interaction and AI are increasingly important. Imogen's presentation couldn't be more timely and her message, delivered with warmth and enthusiasm, is just what students need to hear.
Sam Robbins, Computer Science Teacher, QE School, Devon
Imogen presented a fabulous assembly to our year 12 cohort that considered the development of technology in our time and the impacts that it was likely to have on the current generation. I particularly enjoyed the emphasis on the enhanced importance of good communication skills in an era when this is likely to be the essential quality that differentiates humans from ai alternatives. It encouraged us all to reflect on how this might inform our decisions moving forward.
